About the Role

As an Account Executive (AE), you’ll be a crucial part of Clipboard’s growth team, driving new business and helping us expand our impact in the education sector. You’ll manage the end-to-end sales process—from prospecting to closing deals—with schools and educational organisations.

What You’ll Do

  • Proactively identify and reach out to potential school customers, leveraging data insights to inform targeted outreach.
  • Conduct meaningful discovery calls to understand the specific challenges schools face, and help build the business case that demonstrates Clipboard is the best solution.
  • Deliver compelling product demos that highlight the value of Clipboard’s platform in addressing individual client needs.
  • Negotiate and collaborate with key decision-makers, balancing client requirements with strategic business goals to reach mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships by showcasing Clipboard’s value proposition and fostering partnerships beyond initial sales.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Customer Success, Marketing) to provide insights from the field that enhance our product and service offerings.
  • Stay ahead of market trends and incorporate those insights into client conversations to drive meaningful change.
  • Drive continuous improvement by participating in team initiatives like strategic planning, sales training, and brainstorming sessions to refine go-to-market strategies.

About You

You’re a motivated and genuine communicator who shares our passion for extracurricular activities and values the role they play in a well-rounded education. You naturally build trust and rapport through authentic interactions, and take a consultative, problem-solving approach to sales. With high energy, enthusiasm and resilience, you inspire and engage those around you, ensuring client needs are met throughout the sales process.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in software sales, preferably within the EdTech space and a dynamic startup/scaleup environment.
  • Communication: Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, particularly adept at emails and virtual conversations.
  • Engaging presence: Strong presentation skills, with a knack for captivating audiences during key meetings and stakeholder discussions.
  • Methodical approach: Experience with sales methodologies (e.g. MEDDICC, Sandler, or similar) is a plus.
  • Passion: A genuine enthusiasm for extracurricular activities and the benefits they bring to young people’s development.
  • Prospecting: Comfortable and effective with cold outreach to initiate and foster client relationships.
  • Organisation: Highly organised, self-motivated, and proactive, with solid technical proficiency.
  • Technical proficiency: Familiarity with SaaS platforms and tools like CRMs and communication software.
  • Education knowledge: Familiarity with the K-12 education sector is highly regarded, but not required.
